It is from the movie "dheivathinte vikrithigal" acted by ragu varan.The poem is written by V.Madhusoodhanan Nair.It is one of my favourites.And I dont think that ther is a contradiction in lines 2 & 3.

it a poem written by O.N.V. Kuruppu. this poem is used as a song in the malayalam movie "daivathinte vikruthikal" the film is directed by Lenin Rajendran, which is based on M.Mukundan's Novel. In the Film the poem sung by Madhusoothanan Nair. Music Directer of that poem is Mohan sithara. acted by Raghuvaran. wrong informations. the song irulin mahanidra was written by onv and not by madhusoodhanan nair or mukundan.
Have you noticed one thing? in the film, it is a song that shows the great affinity between the protagonist and his host land, Mayyazhi. but when we read it as a love poem, it is equally charming and meaningful.
